Inside the Mining Pool That Redefines Miner Economics

Bitcoin mining is evolving fast. Margins are thinner than ever and competition is fierce. Since the 2024 halving, the mining landscape has turned into a high-stakes game of efficiency and adaptability, one where every Satoshi counts. Faced with this reality, many miners have cut costs, optimized operations, and upgraded hardware to improve efficiency. Yet, there’s one often-overlooked area: maximizing returns on the hashrate miners already produce. This is why OurPool was launched. In today’s article we do a deep dive into a pool that is setting a new standard in Bitcoin mining.

  • A New Standard for Bitcoin Mining

Built by miners for miners, OurPool rethinks the foundation of what a professional mining pool should be: transparent, efficient, flexible, and aligned with the core ethos of Bitcoin: trustless systems and self-custody. Experience how much more your hashpower could earn when transparency meets efficiency.

Rethinking the Role of the Pool

Margins for Bitcoin miners have been under pressure ever since the 2024 halving. Before the halving, hashprice hovered around $100 per PH/day. After the halving, it plunged to a historic low of $38 and ever since hashprice has been ranging between that low and $64/PH/day at the top of the range.

What’s driving this squeeze? It’s not just the block subsidy being cut in half. It’s also the aggressive growth in network hashrate. In response, miners are doing what they can: upgrading their mining fleet, finding cheaper power, adding new revenue streams through demand response and heat reuse, and improving operational efficiency. Yet, there’s one often-overlooked area: maximizing returns on the hashrate you already produce. That’s why OurPool was launched.

Most miners think of their pool simply as the mechanism that converts hashrate into Bitcoin. But in today’s environment, that assumption can cost you real money. Many FPPS pools have untransparent systems, not communicating how much pool fees you’re paying or how pay-outs are calculated. In many cases, miners simply “set and forget,” without realizing how much is being left on the table.

OurPool was built to change that. It’s a fully transparent, non-custodial, and efficiency-driven pool designed to maximize the value of every terahash while rethinking how pools interact with miners using the platform.

Four Industry Pain Points, One Solution

The OurPool team started from a simple observation: even sophisticated miners are still dealing with friction that shouldn’t exist in 2025. They identified four key challenges:

  1. Lack of transparency and control: Many pools operate as “black boxes,” with little visibility into how payouts, fees, or block rewards are calculated. Miners often rely on trust — not verification — to ensure they’re getting paid fairly.

  2. Poor customer experience: Joining a pool shouldn’t feel like a compliance audit. Yet most operators endure slow onboarding, strict KYC/AML processes, and non-existent support. Feedback rarely reaches decision-makers.

  3. Missed efficiency gains: Hashrate allocation is often static, payout models rigid. Many miners stick with outdated FPPS pools that underpay relative to real-time market conditions.

  4. Capital constraints: Miners often need liquidity for expansion or maintenance. The traditional solution — selling BTC — triggers taxable events and eliminates future upside.

OurPool addresses all four issues head-on.

Extracting Maximum Value with Real-Time Pay-Per-Share (RTPPS)

At the heart of OurPool’s model is RTPPS — Real-Time Pay-Per-Share — an evolution beyond the industry’s standard FPPS system. When a miner directs hashrate to OurPool, that power is sold to buyers on the open NiceHash marketplace. Those buyers set the price they’re willing to pay for instant, infrastructure-free hashpower and those prices frequently exceed FPPS and PPS rates.

This market works on what could be described as a watermark demand-driven model. In simple terms, there’s a baseline (the watermark) for pricing, and when demand exceeds that watermark, the price increases dynamically.

Payments occur automatically every four hours, as long as a miner earns at least 1,000 sats. Every share, payout, and block contribution is verifiable in real time through the platform’s transparent reporting dashboard. RTPPS lets miners earn more without changing anything about their operations.

Frictionless Onboarding and Total Flexibility

One of the standout aspects of OurPool is how easy it is to start mining and the optionality being offered that fits any miner profile.

For privacy-focused miners, wallet-based anonymous mining offers a fully non-custodial option. No registration, no KYC, no waiting. You simply connect your ASICs, mine directly to your own wallet, and get paid.

For larger institutions or compliance-bound companies, account-based mining offers advanced tools like multi-wallet payouts, 2FA, and P&L analytics. These features make it easier to integrate pool data into financial systems and reporting workflows.

And for teams that want to go a step further, the OurPool API provides seamless integration of live data — hashrate, rewards, and payouts — directly into internal dashboards or third-party platforms. Ideal for hosting service providers and Mining as a Service companies.

Payouts are processed automatically once your balance reaches the minimum threshold of 0.005 BTC. Payments are processed every 24 hours. If you did not make the pay-out threshold by the end of the month, OurPool will pay-out the balance free of charge. An unique feature that serves smaller sized mining fleets and home miners.

It’s a pool model that offers the option to adapts to the miner, not the other way around

Built on Transparency and Compliance

Transparency isn’t a slogan at OurPool, it’s a design principle. Unlike traditional pools that hold miner rewards and distribute them, OurPool operates non-custodially. Rewards are sent directly to miners’ wallets, without intermediaries or withdrawal requests. That structure eliminates two of the biggest pain points in mining: payout delays and custodial risk.

Security and compliance are also non-negotiable. OurPool holds SOC 2 Type II certification, a rigorous audit standard that verifies internal controls, data integrity, and system reliability. In an industry where “don’t trust, verify” has become a meme, this certification is a tangible commitment to accountability

A Human Connection

What truly sets OurPool apart isn’t just its technology, it’s the people behind it. Instead of the faceless ticket systems common in legacy pools, miners have direct access to the operations team, the same people building the product day to day.

For strategic partners, this translates into white-glove support from onboarding to full integration, handled with speed, precision, and genuine collaboration. The result is a working relationship built on trust and responsiveness, not bureaucracy. This hands-on approach may sound like a small detail, but in practice it’s transformative: issues get resolved faster, feedback loops tighten, and miners feel like partners not just users.

Deploying 100 PH/s or more? Contact operations@ourpool.io, our team will work side-by-side with you from day one. We move fast, solve challenges directly, and treat every partner like our only partner.

Another layer of that human connection is OurPool’s commitment to Bitcoin education. A portion of the pool’s mining fees is allocated to fund educational initiatives around the world, projects that strengthen Bitcoin literacy, promote decentralization, and empower new entrants to the ecosystem. These initiatives are selected and voted on together with the OurPool community, reinforcing the idea that Bitcoin’s success depends on collaboration, not competition.

BTC-Backed Financing: Unlocking Capital Without Selling Coins

Another innovation from the OurPool ecosystem is BTC-backed lending, a financial product built for miners who want liquidity without selling their stack. Through partnerships with institutional-grade lenders, miners can access loans between $250,000 and $10 million at competitive rates ranging from 3.0% to 2.25%, depending on term length.

This offering is particularly powerful for miners navigating cash flow pressure. It provides flexibility for expansion, energy payments, or mining fleet upgrades while preserving long-term exposure to Bitcoin’s upside.

A New Standard for Bitcoin Mining

In an industry defined by volatility and thin margins, OurPool represents a significant shift. It’s not promising magic profitability or speculative yield , it’s delivering measurable improvements in transparency, payout efficiency, and user experience.

For miners, that combination means one thing: more control, higher returns, and fewer intermediaries. OurPool isn’t just another pool. It is setting the standard of what a professional mining pool should be: transparent, efficient, and supporting miners to run a profitable business in 2025 and beyond.
